The Josephinum Diaconate Institute, part of the Pontifical College Josephinum, is an institute dedicated to the formation and support of deacons for the Catholic Church. We serve all dioceses in the United States and students from around the world by providing pre-ordination and ongoing formation.
We serve deacons, men in formation who are discerning the vocation of deacon, diocesan directors of diaconate and directors of deacon formation, bishops, and others called to service within the Church. The Institute, founded in 2007, also provides ongoing formation for deacons, helping them to continue to grow in their ministry.
At the Institute, we provide pre- and post-ordination diaconate formation for permanent deacons, deacon candidates, and others from dioceses across the U.S. and around the world. We are fully accredited and in compliance with The National Directory for the Formation, Ministry, and Life of Permanent Deacons in the United States of America, 2nd ed. Our formation programming is offered online in both English and Spanish.
