FERPA Notice

FERPA and Student Information Disclosure

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) sets forth requirements designed to protect the privacy of student education records. In most circumstances, expressed permission from the student is required before disclosing information outside the Institute.

Many sending dioceses require their students sign a waiver to allow their formation team access to assignments, instructor feedback, and grades as part of the student’s agreement to enter diaconal formation. This permission is handled by request of a sending diocese. If you have questions about student information disclosure please contact the Institute.
