Our History

The Beginnings of The Josephinum Diaconate Institute

The Josephinum Diaconate Institute was founded in 2007 by the Pontifical College Josephinum – a Roman Catholic seminary in Columbus, Ohio – to offer strong and faithful resources for deacons to continue their formation. Shortly after, the Institute began offering coursework designed for pre-ordination formation to assist dioceses throughout the United States with formation of deacon candidates. Since its founding, the Institute has become a recognized leader in providing pre- and post-ordination diaconate formation.
